The protagonist of this story is a nine year old boy, and themes explored include the loss of childhood innocence, and the confusion of trying to make sense of the adult world. It is also sweet and gentle, and a lovely reflection on childhood.

He can no longer remain ammanihi, he must act. Michele stumbles upon a criminal secret and then spends his time frantically trying to help right the wrong.

This is one of the best thrillers I have read this year. I was so proud of this little boy for going the extra mile for what he thought was right.
