The book described the exacting attention to the detail in his design process and end result that made Apple products very sought after. It’s not a patch on Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs of course, but that was always likely to be the case. In the early stuff, I got a sense that care was taken even on details, hard and soft, that people may never discover.

This book is just badly written, from a mechanical and language standpoint. Jony’s team didn’t ask customers what ife wanted in a phone or in a music player.

peander Jony Ive is an amazing designer and very interesting to read about. I love design and I loved this book. I read this book on a Kindle Paperwhite, but I’ve seen numerous instances in other publications for Kindle where this has been done.

Jony Ive is one of phenomenal designer at this century. It lacks attention to the right kinds of detail – and in a biography about a detail-oriented person like Jony Ive, I would expect a much sharper and well-designed reading experience.


Enjoy the closer look into some of the secrets of Apple’s design practices and how Johny Ive made it to the top. He even included some light moments and occasional humor.

Ive, in spite of his shaven head and kahey non-disclosure, is not quite the charismatic high priest that Jobs once was. Two things bothered me though. Basically I was hoping for “Team of Rivals,” but at Apple.

This book is a good companion to Isaacson’s Steve Jobs. This persists later in the book as well.
